20 questions

I have been in a bit of a blog slump recently so when I stumbled upon Christina's survey post a few days ago, I thought I would play along :)

1. What brings you the greatest joy?
My family and friends, the smell of the pluff mud, the sound of the beach, Christmas, and a really good book.

2. What are your vices?
Cheese & champagne. And glitter.

3. What is on your nightstand?
A pile of about 10 books, about 4 months worth of various magazine subscriptions, a giant glass of water, and my tiny jewelry box for my rings. And about 7,000 bobby pins.

4. Do you have a secret talent?
I can play the flute--or at least I used to be able to-and was actually pretty good. One of these days I'll pick it up again...

5. What is your greatest indulgence?
See #2

6. What should every woman try at least once in her life?
Take a giant leap of faith. It can be for a job, for a guy, traveling somewhere unknown...anything. Do something that scares the shit out of you and makes you a better person because of it.

7. What makes you laugh?
Pretty much everything. I laugh when I'm happy, I laugh when I'm nervous, and I laugh at really stupid jokes and really stupid movies.

8. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
While I'm outgoing and pretty loud and ridiculous, I'm only that way in front of total strangers or friends and family. If I run into someone I only somewhat know or haven't seen in a few years, I'll totally hide to avoid them. It's obnoxious, I know.

9. What is on your bucket list?
Run a full marathon, travel the world, start my own business and about a million and a half other things.

10. What is on your feet right now?
Nothing. If I could be barefoot all the time I could.

11. How did you make your first dollar?
I worked in an alterations and bridal shop for my last two summers of high school. My ADD then kicked in and I managed to get about 10 different part time jobs under my belt before my first real job after college. I literally changed jobs almost every semester of college. Luckily, I've become more dependable since then.

12. What superstition do you believe in?
A heads up penny brings good luck. Anytime I see one I pick it up.

13. What items in your closet do you wear the most?
Dresses/skirts if I'm working or going out. Running clothes any other time.

14. What is the best gift you’ve ever received?
Vita, the puppy Santa Claus brought us. 21 years later, it's still the best Christmas memory ever.

15. What is on your liquor shelf?
No shelf but instead a beautiful bar cart stocked with liquor as well as all the accoutrements for the perfect cocktail . There is a pretty good variety of booze but the most frequently used are vodka & tequila.

16. What is on your kitchen counter?
My most prized kitchen appliance, my KitchenAid mixer. Along with cookbooks, various utensil/spice jars, a coffee maker...too much stuff. It drives T nuts.

17. What would you never leave home without?
My phone, Altoids & mascara.

18. What movie has the greatest ending?
Shawshank Redemption. I remember catching the end of this on TV one night and my brother-in-law made me turn it off because he said I couldn't see the ending without watching the whole movie. Once I saw it, I totally understood why.

19. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?
This changes constantly depending on my mood but right now I would have to say Martha Stewart (she always makes the list), Audrey Hepburn, Leonardo DiCaprio ( also always on the list ), Alexander McQueen, Kelly Wearstler, Ellen Degeneres, and my grandparents. That's a really cohesive guest list, yes? {This is further proof that I am one random ass human being}

20. What is one thing you wish you had known when you were younger?
Be yourself, embrace what makes you different and don't worry about what any one else thinks.

  1. I love the champagne and glitter part. I always wanted to play the flute when I was younger. That's awesome you can! Oh, and I do the same thing with pennies. :)
